Revigrés will be present at the exhibition “Eileen Gray, Arte Total: Casa E.1027 on a 1: 1 scale”, shown at the Gallery of the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Porto (FAUP), from 20 November to 3 January.
Organized by FAUP, in partnership with O'Neil Ford Chair in Architecture, from the University of Texas, this exhibition reproduces the room of the holiday home created by Anglo-Irish designer Eileen Gray (1878 - 1976), on the Côte d'Azur, on a full scale , called E.1027.
This was the designer's first foray into the world of architecture and a true manifesto for which she conceived, not only the architecture of the space, but also practically all objects and pieces of furniture, creating a total work of art that inspired her subsequent projects.
In the exhibition that will take place in Porto, Revigrés will contribute to tell the story of this masterpiece of modern architecture through its Chromatic Collection, applied to the floor of the space. With 40 colors, 10 formats and 3 finishes, this is one of the most complete collections in technical porcelain stoneware worldwide.
Curated by Carolina Leite and Wilfried Wang and coordinated by Alberto Lage, this is the third version of an exhibition initially designed for Mebanne Hall in Austin, Texas (2017), and which has already passed by Akademie der Künste (2019), in Berlin.
At FAUP, contents will be presented that make known not only a space in the house on a 1: 1 scale, but also the research process that resulted in the exhibition and that highlight its importance. More information at www.arq.up.pt.
